Pete Davison brings to SAGE Golf Group Worldwide a 40 year history in the golf and club industry. Prior to forming Sage Golf Group Worldwide, he spent 25 years with the PGA TOUR’s Tournament Players Club Network, where he was hired by Deane Beman in 1980 as the first head golf professional at the TPC at Sawgrass. He later became the Club’s General Manager and Director of Golf. He then became Vice President of Operations for the TPC Network in 1984 as the TOUR began developing clubs throughout the United States. Mr. Davison spent the last 8 years with the PGA TOUR as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties and the TPC Network.

During that period of time, the Tournament Players Club operating group was recognized as the finest and most innovative luxury brand operators in the club industry. No other organization received as much attention or achieved as much recognition and industry awards as the Tournament Players Club Network. The 25 year history of excellence in marketing and operations were unsurpassed and the TPC’s led the industry in profitability, service and presentation standards, operational procedures and standards, marketing innovations, retail merchandising excellence and awards, golf course conditioning and awards, financial and business metric development and human resources innovations and training standards. The TPC operating group set the standard for quality club operations in America.

Before working with the PGA TOUR, Mr. Davison served as the head golf professional at Middle Bay Country Club in Oceanside, NY. Prior to that, he served in assistant golf professional roles at the Atlanta Country Club, Oak Hill Country Club and the Dorado Beach Hotel and Resort. Mr. Davison is also an accomplished player, having played the PGA TOUR in 1974, playing in 3 United States Open Championships, two-time U.S. Open Qualifying Medalist and winning the prestigious New York Metropolitan Open. A native of Augusta, Georgia, Mr. Davison attended the University of Georgia on a golf scholarship, majoring in business, and was a member of the 1969 SEC Championship team that finished 4th in the NCAA Championship.

Mr. Davison is a 35 year Life Member of the PGA of America. He is a former President and Founding Board Member of the American Association of Golf Management Companies. He has represented the PGA TOUR on the PGA of America Board of Directors, is a former member of the PGA of America Employment Council, the NGCOA Executive Roundtable and the Advisory Board of the Multi-Course Owners Group of the NGCOA. He is a past member of the American Management Association and the Club Manager’s Association of America. He has been a former member of several Who’s Who groups including International Who’s Who, Strathmore’s Who’s Who and Who’s Who Among America’s Business Professionals.
