National Golf Course Owners Association (Deputy Chief Executive Officer)
Mike Tinkey is the deputy chief executive officer of the National Golf Course Owners Association and is responsible for developing business relationships with suppliers to the golf industry that help NGCOA members and suppliers to run their businesses more efficiently and effectively. Mike has been instrumental in establishing a number of sponsorships and partner relationship programs, including the NGCOA Purchasing Program, which provides owners and operators with member-only benefits with the equipment and services needed to run their businesses. He is also active in the implementation of the NGCOA strategic plan and directing the Association’s technology initiatives. Mike leads the NGCOA initiatives with multi-course owners, including the annual NGCOA Multi-Course Owner Leadership Retreat. Along with his counterparts at the GCSAA and the CMAA, Mike was instrumental in the formation of the Golf Industry Show and leads the oversight committee. Mike joined the NGCOA staff in 1995 after serving on the NGCOA board from 1991-1995. He also served as president of the South Carolina Golf Course Owners Association and the Low Country Golf Course Owners Association and on the boards of the Southern Innkeepers Society, the Hilton Head Island Chamber of Commerce and the Hilton Head Island Convention & Visitors Bureau. Mike graduated from Auburn University and pursued graduate studies in History.
