Kevin G. Norby, ASGCA, RLA, Principal/Project Architect

Responsibility: As the project architect and the principal-in-charge of Herfort Norby, Kevin will be directly responsible for assessing the site and preparing all plans and specifications. He will be the individual primarily responsible for communicating with the client throughout the design and approval process and will be present at all meetings with the client and the contractor.

Education: University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho South Dakota State University, Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture, 1983 Willmar Community College, Associate of Science degree, 1981

Professional Experience: Kevin began his career in 1976 as a land planner and landscape architect. In 1990, while designing improvements at Superior National Golf Course, Kevin met Don Herfort, golf architect and Fellow with the American Society of Golf Course Architects. Kevin worked with Don for 10 years and, since that time, has been responsible for the design of over 80 projects throughout the central United States, Canada and the Caribbean. Kevin’s attention to detail and passion for golf combined with his experience in golf course design and construction has earned him a reputation for creating courses that are both enjoyable and financially successful.

Recent projects include Sunbird Golf Club in Arizona, The Preserve on Lake Rathbun in southern Iowa, Grand National Golf & Casino in Minnesota and Campa de Bayahibe in the Dominican Republic. Kevin’s responsibilities include conducting the site analysis process, preparation of plans and specifications, wetlands approval, contractor selection, construction observation and contract administration.
