Ken Morton Sr. is the CEO of Morton Golf LLC. His company manages 90 holes of golf for the City of Sacramento. He is considered one of the leading Merchandising and Player Development experts in the golf industry. The Haggin Oaks Golf Super Shop at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex, where he has spent over 50+ years of his career, has been voted One of Americaís 100 Best Golf Shops 25 years running and his Player Development Programs at Haggin Oaks provide over 10,000 golf lessons annually.

Ken has earned the highest honors a PGA Member can earn, having been inducted into the National PGA Hall of Fame and having received the National PGA Professional of the Year Award. Since the late 1970ís, Ken has been a National PGA faculty member for PGA Education and a go to person to help design National PGA Education Programs. He has also conducted golf facility evaluations and feasibility studies as a consultant through the PGA of America for Military Courses around the world.

As a retailer, Ken strongly believes quality merchandising is a business culture in itself. He believes successful merchandising comes from providing friendly & knowledgeable customer service, the building of a quality business structure, hiring and placing the right people within the structure, working with vendors to be in front of the trends, being a knowledgeable marketer and promoter, and most of all, understanding your customerís needs and wants.

As a Player Development expert, Ken and his team have over the years created one of the leading Player Development Business Models in the United States. His teaching staff of 15 or more golf instructors provides several types of golf classes introducing hundreds of new golfers annually to the game and provides private lessons to a clientele of over 4,000 golfers. His team has developed a unique step by step learning process that transitions beginning golfers to golfers who play regularly on the golf course. He believes beginning golfers are looking for a plan to achieve their goals and it is the golf professionalís job to help their clientele develop their own personal success plan. His passion for Player Development led Ken to create a 501c3 youth golf organization that became one of the first and most successful First Tee Programs in the U.S. The First Tee of Greater Sacramento has become a true youth development farm system with programs from the earliest beginner level to development of competitive programs that help juniors receive college scholarships.

Ken Morton Sr has learned over his long career as a PGA Master Professional that the elements of teaching, playing and business must be blended together in order to maximize revenues and profits at public golf facilities.
