National Golf Foundation (Director of Member Research)

Austin S. Elmer has returned to the National Golf Foundation as the new Director of Member Research.

Austin has been living in Augusta,GA and working for Textron/E-Z-GO where he managed their research efforts in support of strategic and tactical objectives. He also played a vital role in Product Management for the golf segment, directing new product initiatives and maintaining current product life cycles.

Prior to Austin’s 4 years with Textron/E-Z-GO he was NGF’s Manager of Industry Research, conducting proprietary intelligence projects for many of golf’s leading companies. Austin has over 13 years of experience managing research and consulting efforts. Before his first stint with the NGF, Austin was the Marketing Research Coordinator for the Tribune Company (at the Sun-Sentinel Property in South Florida), and worked as the U.S. Research Manager for the London, Eng. based market research firm Sports Marketing Surveys.

Austin studied Marketing and Marketing Research at the University of Kentucky, graduating with honors. He has studied Marketing and Business Strategy at The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business, and is Six-Sigma Green-Belt Certified.

Austin is an avid golfer and a golf-crazy lunatic. Austin caddied at Valhalla GC for six years, spent three college years selling equipment at a Nevada Bob’s, and successfully “graduated” to working on research projects for some of the biggest organizations in golf. Austin is right where he belongs… thinking and writing about Golf.

Austin moved back to south Florida with wife Allison and three children: Carson, Samantha and Sophia.
