Title Policy

The title of an article in GolfBizWikiis crucially important. Since all articles link together it is important that we follow the same title conventions. Overall, GolfBizWiki titles should be the most concise, most commonly searched way to describe the content.

A good title should:

  • Be short and simple, expressing one basic topic.
  • Be clearly distinct from titles on similar articles.
  • Be descriptive of your topic. Don't use a "catchy" title that doesn't express exactly what the article is about.
  • Be free of excess punctuation. Avoid placing a period or exclamation point at the end.
  • Not include GolfBizWiki -- that just makes the title longer and probably doesn't add information
  • Not contain superfluous words such as "properly", "correctly", "the right way." Since all GolfBizWiki articles should demonstrate the "correct" or "proper" way to do something, the extra modifier is unnecessary.
  • Include at least two words so a WikiWord can be created for the article name (see here for an explanation of WikiWords, article names, and article titles.)
