Business Member Profile

Levett Rockwood was formed in 1981 by four attorneys who left a large firm with two goals in mind - to assemble a group of talented lawyers who could provide the high-quality service of a large firm combined with the personal attention and service of a smaller one, and to build a base of clients who would be interesting and fun to represent.

During the last three decades, the firm has grown substantially, but our philosophy remains the same - to provide the highest quality service with personal attention and focus at all times to our clients' needs.

Our practice focuses primarily on commercial matters, with extensive experience in the areas of business law, commercial litigation, health law, commercial real estate and taxation.

Our people have top credentials. Many trained at large national and international firms, some have served as in-house counsel during their careers, and several are admitted to practice in both New York and Connecticut. We also have several experienced paralegals.

Our unique blend of size and experience enables us to provide sophisticated representation, accurately and cost-effectively.

Products and Services

We are driven to identify and address the needs of business clients, not only in their day-to-day operations, but also in the areas of capital formation, financing, mergers, acquisitions, securities, taxation, employment, intellectual property, real estate, litigation, regulatory compliance and investigations, creditors' rights, and advertising and sweepstakes.

Our lawyers have close relationships with many in-house legal counsel to provide "surge" capacity, in some instances including part-time, on-site presence at the client’s offices to assure seamless coordination.

Our active litigation group handles a wide range of commercial and white-collar criminal disputes, including contracts, corporate fraud and governance, proxy contests, employment, unfair competition, false advertising, intellectual property infringement, real estate and bankruptcy matters. An important part of our litigation practice is counseling clients on litigation avoidance, response to investigations, risk management and regulatory compliance. We also have an active matrimonial law practice.

Rounding out our practice, we have strong experience and talents in the areas of commercial real estate, health care, advertising, sweepstakes, intellectual property, taxation (personal, corporate and international) and personal planning, including trust and estate planning for business principals.
