With over fifty years of construction experience, Formost has been involved in over 250 golf courses in the USA, England, South Africa, Canada, Mexico, Thailand, Saipan & the Philippines. Formost has the ability and the experience to provide the highest quality of expertise and services related to construction and management of any golf project.

With 85% of our projects being private country clubs, we are intimately familiar with the design requirements and standards needed for private golf facilities. Public golf courses often have many of the same requirements, but they are typically focused on a wider range of users. It is our opinion that the most challenging task of constructing any golf course is to create a facility that can provide the greatest satisfaction to the golfers while leaving our client with a successful enterprise. The result of our construction endeavors is a greater convenience of optimum space utilization, aesthetics that will offer a real net savings in both development and maintenance costs and success in terms of golfer acceptance, membership and community pride.

These services which are offered are applicable to all projects of varied size, scope and complexity. They range from the remodeling of a portion of an existing course to the development of a complete new facility including all site amenities.

Formost’s broad background in the construction of golf facilities encompasses all types of designs, topography, soils and climatic conditions. Our expanded scope of experience from economic analysis through conceptual and detailed design along with construction and project administration, enables us to draw upon a wealth of problem solving techniques to provide a strong base of competence that accomplishes the desired results for our clients.

History

Recognized as the leaders and innovators in the golf industry, Formost Construction Co. was the first to "pull" pipe, lay wire and use the "Spider backfilling machine. We built and patented the "Spider" which was designed specifically for compaction of ditches on established golf courses, such as the Old Baldy Club. This unique machine prevents damage to the turf and eliminates the future possibility of ditches settling.

Formost installed the first three Rain Bird Maxi systems, Toro's first two Network 8000 systems, Hunter's first computer control system with the low pressure-low precipitation sprinkler and their VIH sprinkler. When Rain Bird, Toro or Hunter implements a new product or idea into the golf course irrigation market, we remain their "Contractor of Choice."

Our equipment is built precisely to meet the needs that each project requires. With a large inventory and specialization, Formost has mastered the most adverse soil conditions; solid rock, blow sand, caliche, swamp, adobe, and coral. We are efficiently able to maintain operations on five jobs simultaneously. We have always met or came under any time frame schedules that have been set.
